Kone is a Chartered Accountant (SA) with extensive experience in the financial services sector.
Kone completed her articles at the audit firm Moores Rowland in 2001 before joining Standard Bank as Credit Manager. She gained exposure to equity management through stints at J.P. Morgan and Safika Holdings before joining Nedbank in 2007, where she spent the next seven years as Senior Portfolio Manager: Group Credit Risk Monitoring and then Divisional Executive: Corporate Social Investment.
Through her career, Kone has developed a strong and holistic understanding of the risk and governance issues impacting organisations. She is committed to good governance and to providing Land Bank’s shareholders and stakeholder with the assurance that the Group is managed with due consideration to risk and compliance.

Yatheen is a Chartered Accountant with experience in risk management, finance and executive management.
He completed his articles at Ernst & Young in 2002 before gaining further consulting advisory experience in the USA. He has great banking experience having worked for Nedbank, Standard Bank and Ubank with specific expertise in assurance, enterprise risk management, credit risk management and finance. Before his appointment as Acting CFO, Yatheen was the Head of Internal Audit for the Land Bank Group.
Yatheen has strong financial and business acumen with a strategic mind-set, and is committed to good governance and ensuring Land Bank delivers on its mandate.

Stephen is an admitted attorney with experience in both corporate and development environments. He completed his articles at Cliffe Decker Hofmeyr in 2006 before joining Bowman Gilfillan in 2007 where he gained exposure to corporate commercial legal work, with a focus on banking and finance. He joined the IDC in 2012 as Senior Legal Advisor before joining Land Bank in the General Manager: Legal Services, responsible for the Bank’s corporate and commercial portfolios. He was promoted to the role of Executive Manager of the Legal Services division at Land Bank on 1 January 2018.
Stephen is passionate about finding ways to support Land Bank’s transformation and development mandate through his practical legal knowledge. He is working to strengthen the Legal Division’s position as a valued business partner and an enabler to the delivery of the organisations mandate.

Sydney is a seasoned executive with experiences in both the Public and Private Sectors.
He is currently responsible for the Strategy and Communication division at Land Bank. Having joined the Bank in August 2015, Sydney held the role of Executive Manager: Commercial Development Banking before being appointed to his current role at the beginning of May 2017.
Sydney has a wealth of executive management and financial services expertise, honed over 30 years, a majority of which have included senior management roles in both the private and public sector at institutions including Chief Operating Officer at the South African National Parks; Assistant General Manager at the South African Revenue Services; Managing Executive for Vehicle and Asset Finance at Absa and Head of Vehicle and Asset Finance at Standard Bank.

Loyiso is the Executive Manager: Commercial Development & Business Banking at Land Bank. She also previously headed the Strategy, Policy and Marketing portfolio within the Bank.
Having already spent 25 years in the development sector, Loyiso has gained extensive experience in the fields of management consulting, banking and development finance. During this time, she held a number of senior positions at various organisations including Director at the continental infrastructure firm, Bigen Africa, Executive member at the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), as well as non-executive Director of Conservation International South Africa.
A strategist at the core, she has worked to enhance the operations of various industries and sectors, from Development Finance, Print Publishing, IT and currently, the agriculture and infrastructure sectors.
Loyiso is both a fellow of the African Leadership Initiative (ALI), which is part of the Aspen Global Leadership Network and a fellow at the Steve Biko Foundation. She is a member of the Institute for People Management (IPM) as well as a member of the National Committee on Climate Change (NCCC).

Mpule is a Human Resources Professional with over 30 years’ experience in the field. Her career to-date has included Senior Management stints at Holcim South Africa (Pty) Ltd and Wesbank Head Office, where her responsibilities spanned the breadth of the human resources function, from business partnering to learning and development, industrial relations, performance management and succession management. Mpule also played a pivotal role in the major Human Resource projects of these organisations.
She has played an instrumental role in the revitalisation of Land Bank as an organisation that is fit-for-purpose to deliver on its development and transformation mandate, successfully managing both a major organisational review and realignment. This has resulted in a more efficient and effective organisation best placed to effect change in the agricultural sector.

Faride is an innovative, consultative and “hands-on” Credit Risk Professional with more than 25 years’ experience in the field of debt management, debt structuring, portfolio surveillance and risk management.
He acquired his extensive financial and risk management knowledge and skills through various Senior and Executive positions held at Edcon Financial services, Woolworths and Standard Bank.
A high-energy, proven self-starter, Faride has led large teams and operational environments to achieve significant pre-impairment, impairment and income statement savings across all product lending lines of major financial institutions. As a highly motivated and effective Credit Risk Executive, he is attune to delivering high quality results under pressure.

Maniki has extensive experience in the financial services sector with stints in both banking and insurance. The early part of his career was spent at both FnB and Nedcor before joining the insurance sector, where he has been actively involved for 21 years, gaining exposure through independent insurers, brokers and in-house insurance companies.
He has held several senior management roles within the sector, including General Executive Manager at Glenrand MIB Insurance Brokers, where he also served as a pension fund trustee; Chief Commercial Officer at AEON Risk Services responsible for business development throughout Africa; and CEO of the French-owned COFACE Insurance Company.
In his current role as Managing Director of Land Bank’s Insurance Companies – life and short-term, he is driving the development of innovative agricultural insurance products to cover all segments of the farming community, from subsistence farmers through to large commercial farmers. These insurance solutions serve as an enabler for clients to also access agricultural funding from the likes of Land Bank. Maniki’s role also entails keeping LBIC/LBLIC focussed on addressing both existing and developing insurance market failures.

Bennie is a qualified chartered accountant with diverse financial, executive management and entrepreneurial skills. He completed his articles at PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2000, where he specialised primarily in IT, construction and engineering industries. He further obtained experience in mergers and acquisitions as well as a variety of risk and financial management disciplines at Barclays Africa Group (Absa Bank) during a six-year career. He then joined the JD Group (a JSE listed diversified retail and consumer finance business) where he went on to become the Group Financial Director as well as the CEO of JD Consumer Finance, a division of the Group.
He has a strong track record of successes that include the restructuring of bank and corporate balance sheets, successfully implementing ERP systems, product development (debt and consumer finance assets and insurance products), mergers and acquisitions, developing and promoting talented staff to executive positions, implementing innovative funding and debt structures and the implementation of the various Basel capital management and funding principles.

Dr Litha Magingxa is an agricultural economist responsible for Land Banks Agricultural Economics and Advisory division. He previously served the Land Bank in its Strategy Division and was instrumental in the development of the organisations various programmes aimed at supporting developing farmers.
Before re-joining Land Bank, Dr Litha served as Group Executive: Agri-Economics and Capacity Development at the Agricultural Research Council (ARC) of South Africa where he oversaw translation of agri-R&D outputs into products and services for the agricultural sector as well as the capacity development programmes in support of the sector, amongst other things. He was the Limpopo Basin Coordinator in the CGIAR Challenge Programme on Water and Food and has spent four years with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) as a Doctoral Research Fellow in the past. He is also a past President of the Agricultural Economics Association of South Africa (AEASA) and a former Board member of the National Agricultural Marketing Council (NAMC).

Sakhumzi is qualified agricultural economist and he has a diverse range of experience in development, corporate, commercial finance and managerial skills within credit granting environment. He started his career as agricultural economist in 2002 managing development projects in the Western Cape-linking small scale farmers to markets and access to technical support via large scale players and value chain role players. He subsequently joined ABSA Bank as an agri-specialist in agri-business finance focusing on medium business segments, and development finance and later moved to Land Bank where he served in various roles such as investment specialist, head of sales team, and credit manager. After his stint at Land Bank he further moved to Standard Bank as part of a senior credit team in the Agri-Business unit, responsible for the RSA agri-business portfolio where he held personal lending mandate for Large Agri-Business segment extending loans to (Mega farmers, Agro-processors & Agribusinesses in South Africa), mentoring and guiding credit managers & risk managers within the agribusiness portfolio during his six year tenure at the Bank.
He has strong track record in deal origination, credit granting across all segments, small, medium and large agri-businesses, structuring using various funding instruments such as debt, hybrid products such as (mezzanine or preference shares), equity instruments, and has exposure in overall risk management.

Nafiza is a certified ethics officer, a member of the Compliance Institute and an admitted Attorney (now ex-officio) of the High Court with over two decades of experience across the legal field, collections, credit advisory, fraud risk and loss management and enterprise risk management, compliance, governance and ethics. She is also a member of IRMSA sponsored as part of the Group Membership for Land Bank at the Institute of Risk Management.
Prior to joining Land Bank in 2016, Nafiza worked in two major commercial banks for a collective period of over 15 years. She has served as Cluster Chief Risk Officer for Group Risk, Enterprise Governance and Compliance and Group Communications, Marketing and Strategy. She was responsible for embedding risk requirements including being involved in the Operational Risk Project for Landing AMA (Basel) requirements. She was also responsible for embedding a payments compliance and risk framework and worked with industry bodies (PASA, VISA, MASTERCARD and AMEX), amongst other matters. Nafiza has also during her career chaired Risk Committees.
She has gained experience in governance and compliance frameworks, anti-money laundering, monitoring and ethics management, which saw her play a crucial role in transforming Land Bank’s Ethics Office which is promoting that is promoting ethical conduct and advancing the mission, vision and values of the Land Bank.
Nafiza has extensive and expert knowledge in managing enterprise risks and she is currently playing a significant role in maturing Land Bank’s ERM journey. The support of her team has enabled her to achieve some key milestones in Land Bank. She is passionate about mentorship and coaching and over the years she has coached risk, legal and compliance professionals. She aims to make everyone enterprise risk managers.

Unathi is a Chartered Accountant with experience in finance, executive management and investment banking. She completed her articles at Deloitte in 2001. She further gained investment banking experience working at ABSA Capital, Nedbank Capital and Kwande Group with specific expertise in credit risk management; acquisition and leverage finance; structured equity finance and private equity investing across a variety of sectors.
Before joining the Land Bank, Unathi was the Financial Director at Masana Petroleum. Unathi has a strategic mind-set, strong business acumen and stakeholder engagement experience.
